Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a novel virus among the corona viruses. It is a recent public health emergency, now declared a pandemic. It has spread rapidly throughout Wuhan (Hubei province) to other provinces in China and around the World. We have launched the COVID 19 Open Cohort Study and developed a survey to help collect the much needed data to inform the study.
The purpose of this project is to build malaria research capacity through a dual approach of research and hands-on mentorship activities.
These approaches will catalyse advancement of science, strengthen research leadership, and on-site capacity building.
The project is aimed at strengthening malaria research through:
(i)Epidemiological, pathophysiological and intervention studies in highly endemic Eastern Uganda.
(ii)Training two junior researchers on malaria research and clinical trails.
