Busitema University and Mbale Clinical Research Institute had the honour of hosting the Chancellor, Prof. Eng. Badru M. Kiggundu, during his official tour aimed at strengthening academic excellence, research collaboration, and infrastructure development across the University. As part of the visit, he toured Busitema University Mbale Campus and the Mbale Clinical Research Institute (MCRI), engaging with academic leaders, researchers, staff, and students.
The visit showcased ongoing research, academic programmes, and strategic partnerships that continue to position Mbale Campus and MCRI as key contributors to health sciences training and scientific innovation. The Chancellor interacted with University Council members, Heads of Department, Research Principal Investigators, and student representatives, while observing ongoing research activities.
He commended the progress made in strengthening research capacity and emphasized the importance of innovation, evidence-based research, and collaboration in addressing health challenges. The visit reaffirmed Busitema University’s commitment to advancing research excellence and nurturing the next generation of health professionals and scientists.
